It’s easy to find us by road or rail
Regular train services leave London Paddington and London Waterloo for Devon’s main hubs of Exeter, Totnes and Plymouth. Thatches is just 35 miles from Exeter, 13 miles from Totnes, and 12 miles from Plymouth.
By road, from the South and East of England take the A303 or the M4 westbound and join the M5 to Exeter.
From the Midlands and North of England, join the M5 and head south to Exeter.
Follow signs towards Plymouth on the A38. Leave the A38 onto the A3121 signposted Ermington & Modbury. At the T-junction, turn left and continue for 1 mile to the crossroads, then continue straight on for a further 3 miles. On approaching California Cross there is a garage and a pub. Take the second turning left past the garage signposted Aveton Gifford and Bigbury and proceed for another 2 miles. Thatches is on the right.
